Can you believe it’s already nearly February 2026? Hard to fathom how fast the tide moves — but I’m stoked to be kicking off the year with creativity flowing and heaps on the bench already.

2025 was a massive year — one of growth, experimentation, and incredible connections with clients who love coastal art as much as I do. If you caught my year in review, you’ll know it was full of new timber blends, larger commissions, and deeper sustainability commitments.

Already Brewing in the Studio

The new year hasn’t slowed down one bit. So far in 2026, I’m working on an exciting mix of pieces that reflect both classic Hardwood Tides vibes and some fresh directions:

Custom Surfboard Art Pieces — continuing to play with timber grain, resin flow and ocean-inspired palettes that bring the sea into your space.

MOSS Foundation Charity Skate Deck — a special deck going toward an incredible cause; I am blessed to be able to create one of these each year which will be auctioned to fund clean water projects in Africa - https://www.mosswater.org/moss-deck-art-show

Solid Timber Hawaiian-Inspired Paddles — these have been such a joy to design for one of my existing clients. More on these soon.

Kookaburra Sculptural Piece — a very special art piece for an existing client local to me. Lets just say the symbolism holds incredible meaning to them personally.

Solid Wood Shelves for Home Decor — functional art that elevates spaces; these are proving popular for coastal, minimalist and warm modern interiors. Slightly outside of my usual scope but an exciting project all the same.

The 2026 Waiting List Is Filling Fast

If you’ve been thinking about a custom artwork commission — especially surfboard art, sculptural pieces, or timber decor — now’s the time to reach out. The waiting list is growing quickly as pieces get booked up, and I’d love to work with you to bring your vision to life. Each commission is handcrafted from sustainably sourced timber and the highest quality Australian manufactured resin — no two pieces are ever the same.

What This Year Means for Hardwood Tides

My goals for 2026 go beyond producing beautiful timber & resin art — it’s about connection:

Sharing more behind-the-scenes process stories — from slab selection to resin levelling. Doubling down on sustainable timber sourcing and material stewardship. Expanding the range of coastal art pieces that speak to homes, galleries and corporate spaces alike. Growing a community of collectors, dreamers, and ocean lovers who feel something when they see or touch a piece.

Whether you’re here to browse, be inspired, or commission — I’m genuinely grateful you’re along for the ride.

Let’s Make Something Together

If 2026 is the year you bring an artwork into your home or office, or gift someone something unforgettable — let’s chat. Drop me a message or use the contact form on the site. I’m always excited to talk timber types, resin palettes, coastal colours, and how we can craft something that resonates with your story.

Here’s to more ocean energy, wild wood grain, resin swells — and the art of riding every new wave.

As always, I appreciate you all!

Josh.
