FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Hardwood Tides Frequently Asked Questions – Resin Art, Orders & Shipping
ARE YOUR SURFBOARDS FUNCTIONAL?
Hardwood Tides surfboard art pieces are designed exclusively as sculptural and display artworks, not for surf use.
While they may look like rideable boards, they’re intentionally crafted as fine art for wall display or interior installation.
Let’s just say the laws of physics (and aesthetics) don’t quite align for riding them.

ARE YOUR SKATEBOARD DECKS FUNCTIONAL?
Yes — if you choose to ride them, all Hardwood Tides skateboards and cruisers are 100% functional.
They’re handcrafted to perform while showcasing the same timber and resin artistry found in our wall pieces.
Whether you ride them or display them is entirely up to you.

DO YOU KEEP STOCK AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE PURCHASE?
Generally, no. Most of the artworks, including surfboards and skateboard decks, are custom commissions created in collaboration with clients.
However, occasionally you’ll find select one-of-a-kind pieces available through partner galleries or exhibitions:
-
Studio 53 Surf Art Gallery, Coolum, Australia
-
Nissarana Art Gallery, Noosa, Australia
-
Enchantress Freeborne Art Gallery, Maui, Hawaii, USA
Reach out to me via the contact page if you're looking for something ready to ship or to discuss a future commission.

DO YOU SHIP WORLDWIDE?
Absolutely. Hardwood Tides ships securely and fully insured worldwide, with custom packaging for safe delivery of each art piece.
Whether you're in California, Paris, or the Maldives, your artwork can reach you.

HOW LONG DOES A CUSTOM BOARD TAKE TO MAKE?
Each piece typically takes around six weeks, depending on design complexity and timber availability. This timeline begins once I’ve:
-
Sourced and prepared the timber
-
Finalised layout and design details
-
Confirmed specs with you, the client
My focus is always on quality craftsmanship over speed. Sculptural pieces can take longer but it entirely depends on the design and size of each individual project.

WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR TIMBER?
All timbers used in Hardwood Tides pieces are sustainably sourced from trusted Australian suppliers. These include:
-
Reclaimed or naturally fallen trees
-
Timber from private properties used for habitat management and bushfire prevention
-
Wood aged naturally over years or professionally kiln dried
Each species — from Camphor Laurel to Huon Pine — is carefully selected for grain, character, and suitability for both art and preservation.

HOW CAN I DISPLAY MY HARDWOOD TIDES SURFBOARD ART OR SKATE DECK?
I recommend Ghost Racks for clean, secure, and minimalist display of both surfboard art and skate decks. These are:
-
Australian made
-
Discreet and durable
-
Customisable to suit your installation space
Whether wall-mounted in a residential home or installed in a commercial interior, I can help you find the right solution to best display your artwork.
